Hatting A/S is one of Europe's largest producers of boar semen and is part of the Danish Agro Group which consists of a large number of agribusiness industries in Denmark and internationally. Our objective is to produce and sell boar semen for artificial insemination (AI) and farm supply products mainly to pig producers in Denmark and North European countries.
Our head office is placed in Hatting near Horsens in Denmark - but we have departments across the whole country. Around 230 people are employed and the company has an annual turnover of around 35 million Euro. Boar semen accounts for around 2/3 of the sale and sales of farm supply products 1/3. The wide range of farm supplies covers stable equipment and disinfectants as well as computers and household articles. Hatting’s share of the Danish boar semen market is around 70 percent. Furthermore semen products from Hatting are exported through the genetics company DanBred to several countries in Europe and the rest of the world.
Hatting has some of the world’s best boars at its disposal due to the cooperation with DanBred – one of the world’s leading genetics companies. Boars whose gene material ensures pigs with the qualities demanded by pig producers, abattoirs and consumers.
Hatting’s own fleet of vehicles delivers a little more than 4 million semen doses along with farm supply products directly to some 1,100 pig producers in Denmark.
